Registration for the spring semester of group lessons will close on January 8.  After that date, the tuition will increase from $165 to $190.  This semester, everyone must register online before the January 8 deadline, there will not be an option to register at our first group lesson meeting.  If you are new to our program this semester, you can also purchase a t-shirt on our registration page.

After registration closes on January 8th, the teachers will form the classes and email the class lists to everyone before our first meeting on January 18.  Below is the spring semester schedule, please add these dates to your calendar.

Spring Semester Schedule

January 18      First Group Lesson of Spring Semester.

February 22    Twinkle Celebration and Institute T-Shirt night.

March 15          Institute Registration Due.

March 15           Spring Break, no group lessons.

April 12              Last group lesson at University Park.

April 19              Final Concert at Zion Lutheran Church.

May 29 – June 3   Fairbanks Suzuki Institute.

International Friendship Day

Coming up on this Saturday, October 21, we will be performing at International Friendship Day at thePioneer Park Civic Center.

This is a fantastic venue for us and we would like as many of you as possible to come and help fill the stage!

You should arrive promptly at 12:00 noon at the back entrance closest to the park side.  Myself (Audra), Michele and Dorli will be available to help tune and set up.

We CAN NOT run over our time, so we may have to cut a piece if needed.

Please wear your new Suzuki Talent Education T-shirt with our new logo! If you have not received your shirt yet, look for Aelin Allgood this week at group class. She will be passing out t-shirts. Also, please wear black pants or a long black skirt. No jeans please.  Cellists please bring a rock-stop or strap.

Following is the playdown order, so please brush up on any pieces you may have forgotten or not practiced recently.

We will be having a Friendship Day rehearsal at this weeks group class from 6:30-7:00 in the commons. So plan to arrive early if you are in the 6:45 class.

Heart of Alaska Strings

The Heart of Alaska Strings, under the direction of Dr. Gail Johansen, will perform this Saturday, May 6 at 7:00 PM at Zion Lutheran Church on Davis Road. The recital will feature soloists and also violin choir pieces. Admission is free and all are invited.

Come support these musicians and enjoy an evening of beautiful music.

Every Child Can!© An Introduction to Suzuki Education

Every Child Can! ©  (ECC) is an introduction to Dr. Suzuki’s philosophy and its application to Suzuki education. For parents, teachers, prospective teachers and others, this course provides an inspiring, in-depth look at the Suzuki approach to teaching and learning. For teachers, ECC serves as the first course in the Suzuki Association of the Americas’ Teacher Development Program. In addition to exploring the elements of the Suzuki approach and its far-reaching goals, it includes an introduction to learning styles, history of the development of Suzuki education, the role of parents, the importance of Suzuki pedagogical training, and an overview of the SAA’s role in supporting teachers and parents. A fast-paced, engaging and inspiring program, ECC includes video materials and SAA-developed courseware, and provides each participant with useful reference materials (manuals) for later study.

Every Child Can! will be offered in Fairbanks on Saturday, October 22, from 9:00 to 4:00, with an hour break for lunch. Suzuki Association of the Americas teacher trainer Dr. Gail Johansen will teach the course at Zion Lutheran Church, located at 2982 Davis Road. Registration and fees payment is online at and must be received by October 1, 2016.

Welcome to our new website! Group Lessons begin on September 8 at University Park School at 6:00 with faculty introductions and a play in. The evening will end at 7:30 with ice cream.
